What is Ventilated Clients?
Ventilated clients are individuals who require the use of mechanical ventilation in order to maintain their respiratory health.
This type of ventilation, also known as positive-pressure or assisted ventilation, occurs when a machine forces air into the lungs through an artificial airway such as an endotracheal tube or tracheostomy tube. Individuals requiring ventilator services may have serious medical conditions, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), cystic fibrosis, neuromuscular issues, or traumatic injury.
Kinsa Care offers complex care services for ventilated clients that enable them to reach and maintain optimal levels of health and well-being. Our nurses provide comprehensive assessment services that include physical assessments as well as mental health screening tests such as the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9) in order to identify any potential psychological concerns that may need further attention. We also provide patient education on how to properly use their ventilators and care for themselves at home.
In addition, we offer assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, eating, etc., so that our patients can remain independent while still receiving the necessary support from our qualified staff members. Finally, we provide emotional support so that our patients feel safe and secure during their time with us as well as after they leave our care setting in order to promote positive self-image and resilience throughout the recovery processes.
